Why We Built This Site
Kentucky provides several public record channels, yet each answers a different question. Mercer Circuit Court Clerk keeps District and Circuit case files. The agency that handled an incident keeps its own report. Boyle County Detention Center creates booking records for Mercer custodial arrests under the two-county arrangement. Kentucky State Police maintains the identity-based repository and registry, while Kentucky Department of Corrections operates KOOL. We collect the official contacts, portals, request methods, and documented limits so a reader can choose the custodian that holds the needed record.

This is a privately run reference site, independent of every Kentucky court, law-enforcement office, and state agency. Those boundaries mean we cannot provide government services:
- We cannot issue certified court documents, criminal histories, or booking records
- We cannot submit an expungement petition, open-record request, or other filing for a visitor
- We cannot perform an official background check or retrieve a person’s record
- We cannot interpret a charge or give advice about a specific legal matter
- We cannot promise that an agency’s current fee, address, or procedure has not changed
An official copy must come from the office that maintains it, such as the Mercer court clerk, the reporting police agency, Boyle County Detention Center, or Kentucky State Police.
